On 4th May 1906 Bert married Edith Annie Blundell, 25 yrs, a dressmaker of 81 Carlton Hill Brighton, the daughter of Montague Blundell an undertaker.
Following their marriage Bert continued to work as a coppersmith but moved to a Brewery at Bristol. It was at Bristol their son Percy Albert was born on 13th October 1908.
They returned to Brighton about 1912, Bert returned to the brewery, and they resided at 80/81 Hanover Terrace Brighton which was situated at the rear of the brewery and was an off licence and general store owned by the brewery. This was run by Edith whilst Bert worked in the brewery, until about 1915.
